Meet Tex: The Blue-Collar Explorer
Model: Suzuki V-Strom 650XT (Champion Blue)
If your idea of a perfect tour involves a mix of everything—sweeping coastal highways, gravel turn-offs to hidden shrines, and narrow mountain passes—meet Tex. The V-Strom 650 is a legend in the states and beyond for being the "Swiss Army Knife" of motorcycles. Dressed in a classic Champion Blue with those rugged gold-rimmed spoked wheels, Tex is the most balanced, "no-quit" partner in our garage.
The All-Road Specialist
Southern Japan is full of "in-between" roads—places where the asphalt gets a bit rough or turns into a packed dirt trail leading to a hidden waterfall in the Iya Valley.
The Tex Experience: While the bigger, heavier bikes might feel like a handful on a tight, mossy mountain track, Tex is right in his element. He has a "natural" balance that makes him incredibly easy to handle. He’s the bike that encourages you to take the "unmarked" exit just to see where it leads.
V-Twin Grit for the Shikoku Karst
Tex is powered by a famous 650cc V-twin engine known for its friendly, "can-do" character and steady rhythm.
The Tex Experience: As you climb the steep switchbacks toward the Shikoku Karst, Tex provides a predictable, tractor-like pull that never feels intimidating. He’s not trying to win a race; he’s built to help you soak in those 360-degree views of the limestone plateaus and the clouds rolling over the peaks.
Long-Haul Comfort
Tex is built for the "Great American-style" road trip, even on Japanese soil. He’s the bike you can stay in the saddle of for eight hours and still feel like hitting the local Onsen at the end of the day.
The Tex Experience: With a tall, protective windscreen and an upright riding position, crossing the Shimanami Kaido bridges feels like a breeze. He keeps the Pacific winds off your chest while you watch the whirlpools below, making the long coastal stretches feel effortless.
The XT Edge: Tougher Than the Rest
Because this is the XT model, Tex comes "armored up" with wire-spoked wheels and handguards.
The Tex Experience: Those gold spoked wheels aren't just for looks—they’re designed to soak up the "chatter" of broken mountain roads and gravel paths. If a road looks a bit "sketchy," Tex just shrugs it off. He gives you the confidence to explore the deep forest routes where the tour buses wouldn't dare go.
Why Choose Tex?
Tex is for the curious traveler. He is for the rider who wants a bike that "disappears" underneath them, leaving nothing but the scenery and the adventure. He is light enough to be nimble, sturdy enough to be stable, and reliable enough to be the perfect partner for a solo expedition into the wildest parts of the South.
Tex is saddled up and ready for the long trail. Are you ready to ride?
