Meet Eighty: The Lucky Number Eight
Model: Honda CB400X
If you want a bike that feels like a winning lottery ticket on two wheels, meet Eighty. While the other bikes are busy being "The Navigator" or "The Scout," Eighty is just happy to be the MVP of the mountain passes. He’s got that classic Honda "Goldilocks" DNA—not too big, not too small—making him the perfect partner for a rider who wants a bit of good fortune on their side.
The Master of the "Eight-Fold" Path
In the mountains of Tokushima, there are roads with so many switchbacks you’ll lose count after the first dozen.
The Eighty Experience: This is where Eighty earns his name. While the heavy 1200cc bikes are huffing and puffing through the tight "U-turns," Eighty is flicking through them like he’s playing a video game. He’s got the balance of a mountain goat on a surfboard, making the most technical "S-curves" feel like a gentle massage for your tires.
The "Chinkabashi" Lucky Charm
Crossing the rail-less Shimanto River bridges is 10% skill and 90% "please don't let me fall in."
The Eighty Experience: Eighty is the ultimate confidence booster. He’s so stable and predictable that you’ll forget the bridge is only two meters wide. He’s got a way of making "scary" obstacles feel like a casual stroll, mostly because he knows he’s the eighth one to do it today and he’s got the routine down pat.
Urban Luck: Navigating the Bizen Alleys
Before heading into the wild, Eighty loves a slow cruise through the pottery districts of Bizen.
The Eighty Experience: In Japan, the number eight is lucky for business, and Eighty is a very "business-like" machine—if your business is having a bloody good time. He’s quiet enough to sneak past a sleeping cat in a narrow alleyway and stylish enough to look like he belongs in a high-end travel magazine.
The "UFO Line" Legend
At 1,700 meters, the UFO Line can be a bit intimidating when the wind picks up.
The Eighty Experience: Eighty doesn't care about the wind. He’s tucked-in, aerodynamic, and has just enough weight to feel "planted" without feeling like a tank. He’ll hum his way along the ridgeline, providing a smooth, vibration-free ride that lets you actually look at the clouds instead of death-gripping the handlebars.
Why Choose Eighty?
Eighty is for the rider who wants the "Greatest Hits" tour. He’s been there, done that, and has the reliability of a Swiss watch (but with much better fuel economy). He’s easy to park, easy to u-turn, and according to Japanese tradition, he’s literally built for a "widening path" of adventure.
The road is open, the number is eight, and the luck is on your side. Ready to roll?
